Steve Demonstrates Amanda’s Jumping into Position Exercise
If you use the 2o2o method for contacts on your dog walk this exercise is helpful in getting a collected and energetic contact.
This is one of Amanda Shyne’s Exercises called “Jumping into Position” with this being Step 11 in her contacts program.
Amanda helps you break up each component of the obstacle so you can reward each one on it’s own merit.
You are training for speed, control, target position, entries and exits while working this one exercise so there are many different opportunities to reward your dog.
Just like the Start Line Stay, 2o2o is not the only method used in teaching contacts, but I can see where Amanda’s concepts could help your running contacts as well.
