Identifying a Cruciate Ligament Rupture in Dogs
Due to the intensity of the work an agility dog does we often stress the need for proper warm ups, stretching and massage.
We also love to share videos that help you identify and if possible treat common dog injuries.
In this case we are looking at the tiny ligaments in the dog’s knee or stifle joint in the back leg.
Some breeds are predisposed to this injury including Labradors, Newfoundlands, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and Golden Retrievers.
Unfortunately, the injury most often happens when the dog is at free play and on their own time.
If you or a friend own one of these breeds it is good to know the signs and symptoms in the event your dog becomes lame in the rear end.
