How To Teach Your Dog To Stop Barking At Home

I have never really had a problem with barking and in fact, I have wanted to teach our last two dogs how TO bark on command.

However, I know a lot of smaller dogs bark more than wanted and for at home training this seems like a great plan.

While they use a “Shhh” cue for the quiet command, I would use a stronger verbal so you don’t have to be on top of the dog to give the cue such as “Quiet” or “Enough.”

We have posted other videos on teaching your dog to stay in the crate quietly while at agility trials that might be better suited for the dog under that type of stimulus.

In either case you must SLOWLY increase the stimulus that causes your dog to bark and set your dog up for success.
