How Knowing Your Dog’s Path in Dog Agility Gains You Ground

In this video, you will see how using the Greg Derrett’s 3-step system for choosing the best path for your dog can help your time.

When you walk your course you need to be able to think ahead to your next obstacle and choose the line that will set your dog up for the best success.

You have to go beyond the current obstacle because what may seem like the best choice coming into an obstacle may not be the best for entry into the next.

I really love the video portion as it shows what starts out as the fastest path going into the jump actually slows the dog down into the tunnel.

Thus the “slower” path ends up being the fastest at the exit of the tunnel.  I find it very fascinating how one small change can make such huge differences in your dog’s execution of the obstacle and their time.
