Why Strata Doesn’t Use a Start Line Stay

A great aspect of the sport of dog agility is how it is always evolving to better training and understanding of a dog’s learning.

This is a great example of why some handlers choice not to have or use a start line stay.

Katherine shared with us that her Sheltie Strata needs to be amped up before running and the stay only drains him.

You can see that even with this added enthusiasm Strata is well under control and careful in his run.

This Standard run is part of a QQ #12 at the Granite State Shetland Sheep Show.

Strata also earned the club’s “high scoring Sheltie” and took home the rosette in this class.

Way to go Katherine and Strata, thank you so much for sharing you story and video with us.
