How To Start Your Agility Dog’s Jump Skills

Learn how to develop a love of jumping, a desire to jump clean and how to look down when coming over a jump.

Lessons from Linda Mecklenburg’s book are working great for Lola as you will see she is a very happy jumper.

Keep in mind that this video was edited for time and it takes lots of rewards and repetitions at each jump height.

Also realize that jumping from a standstill is hard work so keep your sessions short.

Be sure to keep your treats low as your goal is to keep your dog’s head down over the jumps.

You want to only click/reward when your dog jumps clean or a ticked bar, not on a knocked bar.

As your dog gets better you will want to increase your expectations and no longer reward for a tick.
