All About the Catahoula Leopard Dog

There are some really good dog agility winning Catahoula’s out on the field especially down South where they originated in Louisiana.

The Catahoula is placed in the scent hound classification most likely due to it’s job of rounding up stray pigs and cattle picking fights with them so they would chase the Cat home.

Developed from the crossing of the red wolf, mastiff and greyhound these dogs were bred based on survival of the fittest.

Known for their dominant personality and strong will they are used for hunting, herding and as companion dogs.

With proper training they can make formative agility dogs as well and are known for their speckled coats and glass eyes.
