What is Dog Agility’s Sliding Teeter
We don’t have a lot to say about this video as this is the first time we have seen this behavior applauded as an actual desired performance.
We want to know if this is a new fad and if this is what trainers are actually teaching their dogs in teeter work.
Now here is why we ask, most contact obstacles have a rough or rubberized surface making this behavior dangerous.
Sliding on a teeter with sanded surfaces will “sand off” the skin on the dog’s pads causing some dogs injury.
Attempting to slide on a rubberized teeter could cause a hind limb to stick and a stifle pulled.
Now the caption on this video mentioned the teeter was iced over, thus we are asking if this is a thing or if this just happened in this video.
