Teaching Weaves Using the Channel Method

This video is a great example of how you use the Channel method for teaching dog agility weave poles.

Great tips on how close to move the poles followed by examples that show exactly what they are saying.

We do want to remind you that you should move the poles closer in small increments and only when the dog is solid at the current setting.

The angle on this video really captures how the dog learns the movement through the poles and allows you to teach the weaves at the full 12 poles as a single obstacle.

You will also notice in this example how the dog slowed when the poles were moved into a straight line.

It may be that this was too quick of a transition and more drive should have been built up before this setting.

It could also just be a learning curve and more work on drive is needed now that the poles are in line.
