Three Great Agility Dog Jump Exercises
Pam gives you a bunch of great jumping drills including the Pinwheel, 270 and Box Drills.
These exercises are designed to strengthen your dogs read on your cues both verbal as well as physical cues.
They will also strengthen your timing, focus, and fluidity of your cues as well as clarity of giving them.
Watching you can see it is important that you know where you are going to direct your dog before you start a pattern.
You will see hesitation in the dog if you stop and think for even a moment about where you are going to send the dog next.
Also note that the jump height is not the objective in these patterns, but instead the handling and patterns themselves.
I think it wouldn’t hurt to run some exercises without the dog as well until you become comfortable with the handling.
