Great Way to Introduce the Dog Agility Jump Serpentine

There are a few ways to start your dog on the serpentine line jumps in dog agility and we really like this one.

Instead of crowding your dog and “pulling” them through, this method gradually angles the jumps until the dog is jumping a straight line.

This has several advantages much the same as teaching the weaves with 2×2 methods, the most notable being the dog never loses drive.

The other is that you are never crowding and for some dogs, making them uncomfortable in learning to move away.

For some dogs the “push/pull” method can actually break their confidence and concentration during learning.

That is not to say the “push/pull” isn’t good, just that this may work better for some dogs and if you agree be sure to LIKE.
