Darwin Saved by Breakaway Tire in Dog Agility Competition

This is an excellent example of the dis-placeable or breakaway tire in action at a competition in British Columbia.

Though Darwin is a small dog you will see that the breakaway tire gives way to his small weight saving him from a flip.

Some have said their dogs get scared from the tire opening up, but that is better then a crash.

Some even complain that the dog becomes lazy when they learn it will give though I still think it is worth the safety.

It is found more and more on the agility field and even with it’s faults it is a great improvement to our sport.
