Cavaletti Training with Rosi the Shetland Sheepdog
Cavaletti training has all kinds of benefits for your dog and his striding both increasing length of stride and strength of your dog.
It is fun to watch this little Sheltie master the distance on these cavalettis as they look to be 5-6 feet in distance.
Just as a fun trivia fact, the average stride length of a horse’s canter stride is 6 feet and this little dog is doing about that.
The only question we have about this setup for the Sheltie is that it appears to be a stretch for him by about 6 inches.
Is the goal of cavaletti or grid work to find your dog’s maximum stride length so they are landing in the middle of the two jumps?
If you have not tried grid work with your dog, it may be time to give it a shot. Right after you click the LIKE button.
