Building Value in Your Agility Dog’s Name

Though this video features a puppy, this is exercise would be used for adult dogs as well.

You cannot do much with your dog if cannot gain their attention or if their name has no value.

Note that she says not to repeat their name if they don’t respond on the first request.

If you repeat the name without getting a response you are indeed teaching the dog their name has no value.

Some will chose to use a different word for attention such as look, spot, or even cookie.
