Attention While Walking or Dog Agility Shadow Handling

This is a necessity for almost all training you do with your dog, even if you don’t plan on any competitions.

Kristin Crestejo takes you step-by-step in introducing your dog to walking by your side with their full attention.

And while you wouldn’t want this behavior when going for a stroll, you will want to be able to get your dog’s attention when you ask.

In agility we would advance this to shadow handling, where the dog is following your body and has their attention on you.

Would add one small step to this lesson and that is lengthening the “look at me” in the stationary position before adding movement.
