Adding Turns To The Running Contact By Silvia

In her first video we saw how Silvia Trkman introduced the running contact to her dog during his first lesson.

In this video you can see how she starts her dogs on angle entries and introduces the turn on exit.

Silvia makes the turn deeper only when the dog shows comprehension of the exercise.

She also uses a pole at the base of the dog walk as reference for the dog.

Once the dog is taking the contact correct and taking a deep turn she adds distance between her and the dog.

Some choose to use a hoop on the exit side that encourages the dog to stay low and on the contact zone to the base.

This is another great way to get your dog solid on running contacts much the same way as the weaves.
