These Shetland Sheepdogs are Fast and Demanding
You may think having a fast dog would make running dog agility easier and more fun, but that is seldom the case.
The Shetland Sheepdog is well known for for their high drive and natural talent, but they are also known for getting frustrated.
They go fast and the handler has to go faster, not necessarily physically, but definitely as these little power houses need to know where they are going when they commit to the current obstacle.
That means you as a handler have to be one obstacle ahead of the run at all times and with a fast dog that isn’t an easy task.
And then when you get behind with a sheltie you sometimes get a rash from them before they will focus back on the course.
Remember that all dogs have their challenges and you have to be willing to learn how to teach with them.
