Improving Distance Handling With a Hoop Part 2

Max is a retired agility dog who had never worked with a hoop giving you an idea of what beginning distance work may look like.

The first video showed Max learning the concept of the hoop and getting a little distance between him and the handler.

This video is great because they add a second hoop and Max is starting to understand the hoop so the handler can start proofing.

You will also see how a toy can really be beneficial in teaching distance and drive by giving the dog a forward focus.

This may go faster than a dog completely new to distance work, but it will have the same concepts to follow.
