Watch This Standard Poodle Earns His First MACH

What a thrill it is to earn that first MACH especially after a long string of almost runs with your dog.

That is what was happening with this team and Heidi, to Gabe’s disdain, decided to keep him in check for the win.

At the ripe old age of 4 years old, Gabe would have been much happier running hard then earning a title.

There will be plenty of years of trials for Gabe to run at a speed he enjoys and still grab titles along the way.

This is also a great example of how a handler made the right call in holding her dog back and “playing it safe.”

I wouldn’t say she was being conservative, I would say she was being very strategic and a great leader with that call.
