How to Start Your Dog on Contact Zones

This is a great introduction to the concept of contact obstacles and the 2 on 2 off contact for the dog.

The 2 on 2 off method is very popular for large or fast dogs to keep them low on the contact and avoiding fly offs.

Note that the dog is rewarded only when they are in the proper position and this dog hunts for it in order to get the treat.

You will see the dog is actually touching the target with it’s nose which is another lesson in itself.

So if you are having a problem with missed contacts or fly offs, you may want to give 2 on 2 off a try.
