How To Build Calmness In Your Dog For Agility Trials

Pam shows how to approach the issue of over stimulated dogs.

She does a great job of taking the dog to a place that he can respond correctly and then builds on that correct response.

She stresses how important it is not to set your dog up for failure by being too close or having too strong a stimuli for the dog and thus sending your dog over the deep end.

When she raises the emotion on the dogs by taking them to other environments she tests the dogs by asking for simple tricks.

This will tell her how distracted, unmotivated by the treat, or just plain over whelmed they are. She can then adjust these elements and start at a place that will put her dog back in the winners circle.

If you have a dog that “loses it” when another dog is working, this could be your answer.
